Here, I attempt to do even the slightest justice to the massive subject of racism, in light of Melody Gardot‘s unsettlingly relevant new music video:
Melody Gardot’s ‘Preacherman’ video, a single from her upcoming album Currency of Man, invites us to reflect on a vital moment in American history, right when we need it most. Trayvon Martin is one of the many young black people to have been murdered in all too recent times, and Gardot aims for her video to raise awareness for The Emmett Till Legacy Foundation (ETLF) and to educate young minds about racism in today’s United States.
